Mario Naster (born December 11, 1965 in Ludwigslust ) is a former German ice hockey player ( striker ) who was active for the EHC Dynamo Berlin , the Kassel Huskies and the EHC Neuwied and SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied . Naster completed 18 international games for the national ice hockey team of the GDR and five international games for the German national ice hockey team .

Career

In the 1984/85 season Mario Naster began his career at EHC Dynamo Berlin in the former GDR league . He stayed with Dynamo Berlin until the end of the 1991/92 season, with whom he also played in the Bundesliga and the 2nd Northern League after German reunification . For the 1992/93 season, Naster moved to the Kassel Huskies in the 2nd Bundesliga and stayed for three years with the Huskies, with whom he played in the German Ice Hockey League for the first time in the 1994/95 season .

From the 1995/96 season he played for EHC Neuwied in the 1st League North and 2nd Bundesliga , where he was the team captain with the club in 1997 and 1998, winning the championship and 1997 the DEB League Cup. Even when EHC Neuwied had to file for bankruptcy in the 1999/2000 season , Naster stayed in Neuwied and from then on played for the successor club SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied, initially in the regional league and a year later in the major league .

After the 2002/03 season, the long-time Neuwied team captain ended his active career. In Neuwied, Mario Naster got a farewell game in which many former companions from the Neuwied championship teams took part. Naster's shirt number 22 was blocked by SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied and no longer given to any player. After the end of his active career, Naster still worked as a manager for SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied.

Mario Naster took for the German national ice hockey team at the World Cup hockey in 1991 in part. Previously, he was already playing for the East German national ice hockey team at the World Cup in 1985 and 1987 as well as the B-1990 World Cup .
