Mario Petter (born May 22, 1992 ) is an Austrian soccer player .

Career

Petter started his career at SV Bad Goisern . In 2002 he moved to SV Gmunden . In 2004 he played briefly for SV Ried . In the same year he moved to the youth team of SV Austria Salzburg , which was renamed FC Red Bull Salzburg in 2005. In 2007 he came to the academy of SV Ried.

In 2008 he moved to the fifth class SV Bad Ischl . With Bad Ischl, he rose to the Upper Austrian League in 2010 . After promotion he moved to the sixth class SV Bad Goisern for the 2010/11 season. With Bad Goisern, he rose from the district league to the fifth-class state league in 2012 . In 2013 he was promoted to the Upper Austrian League with Bad Goisern.

For the 2013/14 season he moved to the fifth class ATSV Stadl-Paura . With Stadl-Paura he rose to the end of the season in the Upper Austrian League. In August 2014 he made his debut in the fourth-highest division when he was in the starting line-up against FC Wels on the first day of the 2014/15 season and was replaced by Genadi Petrow in the 80th minute. In the game that Stadl-Paura won 5-0, Petter scored three goals. At the end of the season he was promoted to the regional league with the club . In the promotion season he played 29 games in the Upper Austrian League and scored 19 goals.

He played his first game in the regional league in July 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Edin Ibrahimović in the 57th minute of the first match day of the 2015/16 season against Union St. Florian . He scored his first goal in the Regionalliga in August 2015 in a 4-0 win against Deutschlandsberger SC . In his first regional league season he scored 13 goals in 26 games. In the 2016/17 season, Petter scored 30 goals in 29 games, making him the league's top goalscorer.

During the winter break of the 2017/18 season, he moved to league competitor SK Vorwärts Steyr . With Steyr he rose to the second division at the end of the season . He made his debut in the second division in August 2018 when he was brought into play on the second match day of the 2018/19 season against FC Liefering in the 60th minute for Josip Martinović .

In January 2019 he moved to the regional league team Union Vöcklamarkt , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.
