Mario Rese

Mario Rese (born February 9, 1964 in Berlin ; † March 5, 2013 ) was a German economist and university professor .

Life

Mario Rese first studied business administration and agriculture in Göttingen , but then went back to his hometown to do his doctorate with Wulff Plinke at the Free University of Berlin in 1993 . He obtained his habilitation in 1998 at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In the following year he became a professor for business administration, especially marketing , at the University of Paderborn . Since 2003, Rese has held the Chair of Applied Business Administration IV, Marketing, at the Ruhr University in Bochum and taught, among other things, sales and production processes , marketing research and market and companies . He later also took on a professorship, initially from 2001 to 2007 as a visiting professor and from 2010 as a full professor at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin. After him, the ESMT's Best Teacher Award was posthumously renamed Mario Rese Best Teacher Award .

He has published a large number of conference and book contributions and was among other things co-editor of the Business-to-Business-Marketing manual of Gabler Verlag .

I.a. Laura Marie Edinger-Schons did her doctorate with him.

The interface between engineering, such as mechanical engineering, and economic topics, such as marketing and cost accounting , was a central part of his research throughout his life. Therefore, from 2006 until his death in 2013, he was involved in the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 29 "Engineering hybrid service bundles ", which he helped set up and which was funded by the DFG . Among other things, he was a sub-project manager for the area of customer benefit and willingness to pay .

Rese died completely unexpectedly in early March 2013.
