Marion Fiack (born October 13, 1992 in Reims ) is a French pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Fiack began with athletics as a child, but first specialized in all-around and middle distance runs before she started pole vaulting in 2009. That year she also took part in the European Youth Olympic Festival. In 2010 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , but was eliminated in qualifying there. In addition, she crossed the 4-meter mark for the first time in Forbach . In 2011 she moved to Clermont-Ferrand and has since been trained by Philippe d'Encausse , a former professional pole vaulter . With 4.36 m she also improved the French junior record held by Vanessa Boslak . At the Junior European Championships in Tallinn she reached seventh place in the final.

In 2013 she became French vice indoor champion and qualified for the U23 European Championships in Tampere , where she finished fifth with 4.30 m. In the 2014 indoor season she improved the U23 record to 4.61 m and was again runner-up in the hall. In the open air season, too, she climbed to over 5.55 m and took part in the European Championships in Zurich , where she missed the finals. In 2015 she improved the French record to 4.71 m, replacing Vanessa Boslak as the previous record holder. She became French indoor champion and also qualified for the European Indoor Championships , where she was fifth with a crossed 4.50 m. In preparation for the outdoor season, she went to the United States for a few months, but injured her wrist there and had to end the season early. In 2016 she slowly returned to her old level with a skipped 4.38 m, but could not qualify for international championships.
