Marion von Wartenberg (born October 21, 1957 in Stuttgart ) is a member of the Presidium of the German Evangelical Church Congress and former State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Baden-Württemberg .

Life and work

After training as a kindergarten teacher , she ran a day-care center until 1980. From 1981 to 1984 she trained as an occupational therapist . She then took on a three-year position as deputy head of department and specialist teacher at the Heidelberg Rehabilitation Foundation at the Stephen Hawking School in Neckargemünd. In addition to her job, she studied German and Protestant theology at a university of education . Between 1988 and 2008 she was able to gain further professional experience as a clinic and elderly pastor at the Württemberg regional church . Her focus was on accompanying seriously ill children and their relatives, pastoral care for the elderly and lecturing in nursing and geriatric nursing schools.

From 2008 to February 28, 2013 she was deputy chairwoman of the DGB district of Baden-Württemberg. From March 2013 to May 2016 she was political state secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.

Von Wartenberg is married and has one child.
