Mark Walters (cyclist)

Mark Walters (born February 15, 1976 in Milfort ) is a former Canadian cyclist .

Career

Mark Walters began his career in 1998 with the Mercury Cycling Team . In his first year, he won a stage in the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce and became Canadian road racing champion. He also won a stage at the Bob Cook Memorial-Mount Evans and the overall ranking of the Reddings 3-Days. The next year he moved to the Navigators Cycling Team , where he won the New Jersey Classic, the North Atlantic Championship, a stage of the Tour de Toona and the Tour de Okinawa . In 2000 he won the Chris Thater Memorial Criterium and in 2001 he was Canadian road champion for the second time. In the 2002 season, Walters won a section of the Millionair Race and the First Union USPRO Championship , the earlier race for the US Championship. In 2003 he won a stage in the Tour de Toona, in 2004 a section of the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic and in 2006 the Hamilton Classic. From 2007 Walters rode for the American Continental Team Kodakgallery.com-Sierra Nevada and was successful on a section of the Tour de Beauce .

After the 2008 season, he ended his professional career.
