Fitchburg Longsjo Classic

The Fitchburg Longsjo Classic is a road cycling event , which intermittently annually in the US since 1960 Fitchburg ( Massachusetts will be played). The event will commemorate the cyclist Art Longsjo , who was killed in an accident in 1958 and came from Fitchburg.

For the first time in 1960 a one-day race called the Fitchburg-Longsjo Memorial Race was held. The race was later held as a stage race. In 2011 the race had to be canceled due to a fire in downtown Fitchburg. For financial reasons it should only have taken place as a one-day race again this year. After the race was canceled again in 2012, after 2013 it was only held as a racing series of criteria in different racing classes.

The men's record holder is Wayne Stetina with three wins. Lyne Bessette won the women four times in a row.
