Mark Wing-Davey (born November 30, 1948 in London , England ) is a British actor and theater director .

Life

Wing-Davey studied at Cambridge University , where he was a member of the Cambridge University Footlights Dramatic Club from 1967 to 1970 . Other prominent members of this club included John Cleese , Graham Chapman and Eric Idle of Monty Python, as well as Simon Jones and Douglas Adams .

With the latter two, he worked on his most famous role, the two-headed president of the galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox , both the BBC - radio play and in the subsequent TV adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy . In 1983 he played the Earl of Warwick in the television play on William Shakespeare's three-part drama Henry VI and Sir James Tyrrel in Richard III . He also played guest roles in various British television series such as Dempsey & Makepeace and Absolutely Fabulous . From 2003 he repeated his role as Zaphod Beeblebrox in the sequels of the radio play The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy , Life, the Universe and All the Rest, as well as Take care and thank you for the fish . He also spoke the role of Judge Ghis in the computer game Final Fantasy XII .

He then worked mainly in the theater as an actor and director, including the off-Broadway production Unconditional , which is performed by Philip Seymour Hoffman's theater group LAByrinth Theater Company .
