Booth (business)
A stand is a small point of sale . Even charities employ action stands to collect donations and fundraising . Stalls can be found in larger collections at weekly , flea , Christmas and annual markets as well as at public festivals . Placed individually, they are often found in pedestrian zones and amusement parks .
Demarcation
The difference between a stand and a retail store is that customers enter a store while at the stands they stay outside and are served from the inside (out). Stands offering fast food and drinks for direct consumption are called snack stands or drinking halls . Food , souvenirs and tickets are sold at kiosks and mobile stalls , for example . The kiosks and some sausage stalls are a special form, as they can take the form of a permanently installed stand, a shop or a mixed form (for example with a covered eating area).
variants
Mobile booths in quick construction and suitably equipped car trailers are common at fairs or for special matters . “Stand” are also called small shops that are firmly integrated into buildings and only sell outside. In some markets, the stalls actually intended for mobile operation are no longer dismantled, as in many places on city markets (e.g. the Vienna Naschmarkt , the Bozen fruit market or the Munich Viktualienmarkt ) and in many market halls . A (Flea) market stall is a simple form of an article, and usually consists of one or more times by large umbrellas , tarpaulins or a tent covered folding or trestle tables .
