Markus Aerdken (born December 5, 1971 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In his youth Aerdken played for Brukteria Rorup, TSG Dülmen , FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund before he moved to the Westphalian upper division (then third division) ASC Schöppingen for the 1991/92 season. Aerdken also played a few games for the German U18 and U20 national team.

After only one year of play, he was signed up as a striker by the then second division club FC St. Pauli . Aerdken played in 28 games in the mammoth 1992/93 season, but was mostly only substituted on. However, he only scored five goals for FC St. Pauli. After this mixed season, Aerdken moved within the 2nd Bundesliga to Wuppertaler SV , where he also scored five goals in eleven games.

Curiously, he scored two goals for a 2-1 win in the away game at FC St. Pauli, where he ended a long streak of home wins for Hamburg and had to leave the game with a yellow-red card. Aerdken rose in the same year with the Wuppertaler SV, where he then spent another year in the third division.

In the 1995/96 season Aerdken moved to VfB Lübeck . This was just promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. He stayed until the end of the following season, in which VfB Lübeck was relegated again. Aerdken scored four goals in 22 games for VfB Lübeck. The contract with Aerdken was not extended after relegation.

He then switched to the sports friends from Lotte in the fifth class. After just one season he moved to eastern Germany, where he signed a two-year contract with FC Sachsen Leipzig . In 2000 he played briefly for FC Markwerben.

From the 2000/2001 season he changed his club every year across Germany, where he always signed for one year at BFC Dynamo , Wormatia Worms , Union Solingen and FC Eilenburg until 2003 . Here Aerdken played together with the ex-professional Maik Kischko . After that Aerdken was active in the lower class clubs FSV Krostitz, Grün-Weiß Piesteritz and TSV Elbe Aken until 2008. In between, Aerdken also played for the American Football Club Leipzig Lions in 2006 .

Since 2008 Aerdken has been the instructor of the Leipzig district class club SV Sternburg Lützschena / Stahmeln for two years .

For the 2010/11 season Aerdken laced up again in the regional league at TSV Aken and made his comeback as a player. In March 2011 he switched to the district class club SV Fortuna Leipzig as a coach .
