Markus Gürne

Markus Gürne (born December 14, 1970 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist and television presenter . He is head of the ARD stock exchange and moderates the ARD business magazine Plusminus .

Life

After graduating from high school, Gürne studied law , political science and general rhetoric in Tübingen . While still at school, he worked in the sports department at Süddeutscher Rundfunk , and during his studies he completed a traineeship in the current editorial department of the SWF state studio in Tübingen .

From 1998 he reported as ARD correspondent from Baden-Württemberg. In 2002 he set up reporting for the Stuttgart Stock Exchange for Südwestrundfunk . In the same year he completed training as a crisis and war reporter at Centurion Risk Services in London . In 2003/04 Gürne worked as a foreign correspondent in the ARD studio in Cairo and as a special correspondent in Iraq . From 2005 to 2008 he headed the Tagesschau editorial team at Hessischer Rundfunk . He then became the ARD foreign correspondent for South Asia based in New Delhi .

Since January 2012, Gürne has been the head of the ARD stock exchange editorial office and moderator of the show Börse vor Acht . Since January 9, 2013, he has been moderating the business magazine Plusminus for Hessischer Rundfunk .

From April 2020, Gürne hosted the ARD special broadcast ARD Extra on the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany several times .
