Markus Hätinen (born January 6, 1974 in Jyväskylä , Finland ) is a former German- Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper who was active during his career for the Eisbären Regensburg , Kassel Huskies and Moskitos Essen , among others .

Life

Markus Hätinen made his first appearances in senior ice hockey in Finland at JYP Jyväskylä in the 1991/92 season, where he also played in the youth team until 1994/95. For the 1995/96 season he moved within Finland to FPS Forssa, from where he moved back to Jyväskylä for the next season. In the summer of 1997 he moved to Germany, where he played in the second highest division at ERC Ingolstadt in 1997/98 and 1998/99 . He then returned to Jyväskylä for one season before moving to France for HC Reims in the summer of 2000 . There he played the next two seasons and helped to get the French championship title. In the summer of 2002 he moved back to Germany for EV Regensburg for the 2002/03 season . For the following 2003/04 season he moved to Bremerhaven , where he contributed to the league title and the immediate resurgence. From Bremerhaven he moved to EV Ravensburg for one season , from which he moved to ETC Crimmitschau for the following season . There he again won the league title and was largely responsible for the rise of the Saxons.

At the end of the 05/06 season he was voted the best goalkeeper in the league. In the 06/07 season he was obliged by the Kassel Huskies (2nd division) and shared the goal there with Sebastian Elwing . With the best goal average of 2.04, he switched to the then 2nd league club ESC Moskitos Essen after a more or less successful season, where he formed the goalkeeper trio with Daniel Wrobel and Jochen Reimer . There he ended his career in 2008 after the club had to file for bankruptcy.

In Finland he came to work during the European Junior Championships in 1992 and 1993.

Since 2011 he has been working as a trainer in the junior department at ERC Ingolstadt .
