Markus Krajewski (legal scholar)

Markus Krajewski (* 1969 ) is a German legal scholar with a research focus on international business law, international human rights protection, European foreign relations law and European law on public services. Since 2010 he has been a professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

Life

From 1991 Krajewski studied law , economics and political science at the University of Hamburg and international relations at Florida State University . In 1997 he graduated with the first state examination in law. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International Affairs at the University of Hamburg and completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court . He did his doctorate with a scientific thesis on “Constitutional prospects and legitimation of the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO)”. After teaching as a DAAD lecturer at King's College in London from 2001 to 2003 , he took over the junior professorship for public and European business law and international business law at the University of Potsdam in 2003 . He held this position until 2008, before becoming a visiting professor at the Collaborative Research Center “Statehood in Transition” at the University of Bremen .

In the 2010/2011 winter semester, Krajewski was appointed professor of public law and international law at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . In the summer semester of 2014 he turned down offers to the Westphalian Wilhelms University and the University of Saarland . At the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , the legal scholar is one of the program directors of the Master’s program in Human Rights and spokesman for the interdisciplinary Center for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg . Krajewski is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German Institute for Human Rights , Secretary General of the German Association for International Law and Liaison Lecturer for the Hans Böckler Foundation . He is also co- editor of the European Yearbook of International Economic Law .
