Markus M. Ronner

Markus M. Ronner (born June 21, 1938 in Bern ) is a Swiss theologian , publicist and journalist . Ronner became known for his time-critical aphorisms and a series of quotation manuals.

Professional background

The pastor's son Ronner studied philosophy , religious history , church history, and the Old and New Testaments in Zurich and Bonn . During the Second Vatican Council he was an observer and commentator of several Swiss newspapers and magazines. He joined the editorial team of the Basler Nachrichten .

For two years he headed the foreign policy editorship of the Zürichsee-Zeitung (1964/65), from 1966 that of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (“ Echo der Zeit ”) and then became editor-in-chief of Weltwoche , where he worked from 1970 to 1980 as “Blattmacher” for was responsible for the topic of Germany politics as well as for the media criticism.

In 1982 Ronner became the publishing director, then journalistic director of the Zurich publishing house Jean Frey AG and personal publisher advisor. He also worked as a lyricist and script writer for ZDF , ORF , ARD and RTL and was until 1994 ghostwritten by Thomas Gottschalk .

In 1986/87 he was the author of the "Prominenten-Talk" in the Sunday newspaper , 1993/94 columnist of the world . Since 1994 he has worked as a columnist and copywriter for various German-language newspapers, as a consultant for newspaper publishers and as a book author.

Private

Ronner married the radio editor Ursula Krähenbühl in 1968. He lives with her in Küsnacht on Lake Zurich and on Sylt.
