Markus Paßlick

Markus Paßlick (born September 12, 1963 ) is a German percussionist and author .

Life

While still at school, Paßlick performed in the theater in Münster and was already on tour as a percussionist with various pop and jazz bands in 1981. After high school and community service, Paßlick studied geography and biology. His diploma thesis dealt with the topic "Distribution, endangerment and ecology of the grasshopper species in Münster / Westf."

In the mid-1980s, he and Kristian Bader were among the prize winners at the “Meetings of Young Songwriters” in Berlin . Paßlick performed with his own quintet for ten years, band members were the saxophonist David Handsley and the vibraphonist Altfrid Sicking . With the "Markus Paßlick Quintett" he gave a concert in front of Cologne Cathedral in 1991, which was broadcast by WDR . In 1987 he recorded the album Twelve to six with Götz Alsmann . Since 1989 Paßlick has been a percussionist in the Götz Alsmann Band. In the television film “Alles Because Robert de Niro” from 1996, he can be seen alongside Götz Alsmann as a drummer and a father in trouble.

From 1994 to 1996 Götz Alsmann and band hosted the NDR late show in 130 episodes . On the show, the band played live with Fettes Brot , Roger Chapman , Gloria Gaynor and Heino, among others . In 1997 Paßlick worked for the WDR program Casino Royal as an author, music editor and musician. He also worked as an author for the stand-up part of the show for Die Harald Schmidt Show . In the seven years as a writer for Harald Schmidt, he also appeared regularly as a zoologist and ecologist and in various feature films on the show. Paßlick made a name for himself as an author for television stars like Cordula Stratmann , Eckart von Hirschhausen , Ralf Schmitz and Reinhold Beckmann . In addition, Paßlick was an author for the WDR television show Zimmer Frei , where he also appeared as a “notary”. He is also the author for the ZDF classic show Götz Alsmanns Nachtmusik .

In July 2009, Paßlick published his first children's book, The Adventurous Lives of Dinosaurs , in collaboration with the illustrator Thea Roß . A year later, the same publisher published the second book Vom adventurlichen Leben der Säbelzahnntiger .

However, the main field of activity is in the musical field. With the Götz Alsmann Band he completes a perpetual tour throughout Germany with around 100 performances a year. As a studio musician, Markus was supported by Reinhard Mey and Dr. Ring thing asked. Since 1999 he has worked regularly with the punk band Die Ärzte . Paßlick is married and has two children.

Musical projects

In addition to appearing with the Götz Alsmann band, Markus Paßlick is also a member of the “Matt Walsh Acoustic Quartet”. He is the band leader of "Markus Paßlick and his Original Pumpernickel". This formation plays regularly for the Adam Riese Show , which took place in the Theater im Pumpenhaus in Münster until 2017 and has since been located in the CLOUD concert hall on the Germania Campus in Münster. Markus Paßlick also works as a noisemaker for various radio play and audio book projects. He set various radio plays for WDR radio and the audio books Der Hund von Baskerville by Götz Alsmann and “Das Leichenpuzzle” by Kai Magnus Sting.
