Markus Schauta

Markus Schauta (born January 9, 1976 in St. Veit an der Glan ) is an Austrian journalist and author .

Life

Markus Schauta studied history , archeology and religious studies with a focus on Islam in Vienna and Graz . From 2009 to 2013 he was co-editor and editor of the magazine über.morgen . Since 2011 he has been working as a freelance journalist for Austrian and German daily newspapers and magazines. Regular publications of Middle East reports etc. a. in the Wiener Zeitung , Die Welt , Vice , zenith and in various literary magazines (including Lichtungen , Wienzeile , nn-Literaturmagazin). In 2015 he was awarded the Dr.-Karl-Renner-Publizistikpreis .
