Marlies Schoch

Marlies Schoch (born November 18, 1940 in Herisau ; † April 23, 2016 ) was a Swiss innkeeper and non-party politician .

Life

Schoch graduated from the business school in Neuchâtel and obtained the teaching diploma. After the Agadir earthquake in 1960 , she lived in Morocco for a year and helped rebuild. She was the co-leader of a camp for Jewish children from New York and New Jersey in the United States . She later worked ten years as a primary school teacher in Vasön in the Tamina valley.

From 1971 she was the landlady of the excursion restaurant on the Hundwiler Höhi .

From 1991 to 2011 she was a member of the municipal council of Hundwil and from 1999 to 2011 of the canton council of Appenzell Ausserrhoden . She fought for the reintroduction of the rural community, which was abolished in 1997 .

She was also the President of the Hundwil Tourist Association and Spitex Hundwil.
