Marlies Volkmer

Eva Marlies Volkmer b. Schubert (born August 21, 1947 in Bautzen ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She was a member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2013 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1966 with the simultaneous qualification as a skilled nurse , Volkmer began studying medicine at the University of Leipzig , which she completed in 1974 with a degree in medicine. She worked at the University Clinic for Dermatology from 1972 and became a specialist in dermatology in 1981 . In 1981 she also received her doctorate (dissertation A) as Dr. med. with the work "Investigations of spontaneous and stimulated NBT reducing ability and the Phagozytosevermögens polymorphonuclear neutrophils using the NBT test in various skin diseases" . From 1981 to 1988 she headed the skin department of the polyclinic in Niedersedlitz . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational Medicine of the Medical Academy Dresden until 1991.

Marlies Volkmer is married and has two children.

Political party

Volkmer joined the SPD in 1990 and was chairwoman of the SPD sub-district Dresden-Elbe-Röder from 1999 to 2003. She has been a member of the SPD state executive in Saxony since 2004 . She is also the deputy federal and state chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democrats in Health Care (ASG).

MPs

From 1990 to 2002 Volkmer was a member of the Saxon state parliament and was the spokeswoman for health and social policy for the SPD parliamentary group.

From 2002 to 2013 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Since December 2005 she has been the deputy spokesperson for the health group working group and a member of the board of the SPD parliamentary group . Since February 2006, she has also been deputy spokeswoman for the parliamentary group building-up east .

Marlies Volkmer has always drawn into the Bundestag via the state list of Saxony . My constituency was Dresden I .

Honors

1 June 2013 she was awarded the Saxon Landtag President Matthias Roessler commending its political activity in the development of the health sector in the rebuilt Saxony the Saxon Constitutional Medal .
