The long inflorescence consists of multi-flowered pseudo whorls. The prophylls are inconspicuous, sub-like and tomentose, but almost hairless at the tip. The calyx is hairy white woolly. The five calyx teeth are sub-sub, slightly shorter than the crown and calyx-tube and less than 1 mm wide at the base. They do not become rigid at the fruit. The crown is pink to purple in color.

The flowering period lasts from May to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 34.
