Martín Rodríguez , full name Martín Sebastián Rodríguez Prantl , (born September 20, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.91 meter tall goalkeeper Rodríguez has been in the first division squad of the Montevideo Wanderers since the Apertura 2008 . From the Apertura 2010 he played 41 games in the Primera División until the end of the 2012/13 season . In the 2013/14 season, in which he also played twice in the Copa Sudamericana 2013 , he was on the pitch in seven matches until his last appearance on October 20, 2013. In the Clausura, which he won with his team, he came as a representative of goalkeeper Federico Cristóforo to no further use. At Apertura 2014, he did not extend his contract and left the club in the direction of league rivals Juventud . In the 2014/15 season he was used four times in the Primera División. This was followed by two more premier league appearances in Apertura 2015 and one in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . In mid-January 2016 he moved to Colombia to Deportivo Pereira and played three league games in the Primera B and four games in the Copa Colombia . Since mid-January 2017 he has been back in the Montevideo Wanderers squad. So far (as of March 4, 2017) he played in four first division games and two games of the Copa Libertadores 2017 at the Uruguayan capital club .

National team

Rodríguez was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection . From his debut, which he celebrated under coach Diego Aguirre on October 24, 2008 at the Copa Tarek Saab in the game against Venezuela, he has played a total of 17 matches with the U-20s, according to the AUF . He had to accept 18 goals. He took part with the team at the U-20 South American Championship 2009 in Venezuela and the U-20 World Cup 2009 in Egypt . In 2011 he was a member of the Uruguayan squad that won the bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games . For this selection he was used six times as a national player (seven goals against). He made his debut under coach Juan Verzeri on October 5, 2011 against Argentina. 2012 was Rodríguez member of the Olympic Team of Uruguay at the Olympic Summer Games in London . There he was only intended as one of four replacement athletes.
