Martin Lanig (born July 11, 1984 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
In his youth Lanig played for SV Königshofen, TSV Tauberbischofsheim and 1. FC Nürnberg . He then began his career with the Baden-Württemberg league club FV Lauda . From 2003 to 2006 he played for the regional league team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he was partly used in the Oberliga team. From 2006 to 2008 he played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
On April 23, 2008 Lanig used his release clause at Fürth and signed a contract with VfB Stuttgart dated until June 2011, which came into force for the 2008/09 season.
After Lanig tore a cruciate ligament on the second match day of the 2009/10 season , he regained match practice for the first time on March 31, 2010 in a third division game of the second team of VfB Stuttgart and after the long injury break no longer achieved the necessary fitness for another season assignment the Bundesliga.
Lanig moved to 1. FC Köln for the 2010/11 season . There he made his competitive debut on August 15, 2010 in the DFB Cup against ZFC Meuselwitz. He scored his first goal for "FC" on matchday 9 against Hannover 96.
After the relegation of Cologne, Lanig moved to Eintracht Frankfurt for the 2012/13 season , for whom he scored the 2-1 winner against Bayer Leverkusen in the 82nd minute in the first Bundesliga game. In return, Matthias Lehmann moved to 1. FC Köln.
Since Lanig no longer played a major role in the squad planning in Frankfurt and only made three short appearances in the 2014/15 season , he moved to Cyprus to APOEL Nicosia on January 23, 2015 . However, his contract was terminated after a few months.

Martin Lanig was born in Bad Mergentheim in 1984 and grew up in Königshofen . In 2004 he graduated from the Martin-Schleyer-Gymnasium in Lauda-Königshofen in the Main-Tauber district .
