Martin Richter (producer)

Martin Richter (* 1976 in Offenburg ) is a German film producer .

Life

Richter comes from Offenburg , where he graduated from the Schiller-Gymnasium in 1995. After an internship at Hitradio Ohr , an apprenticeship at ARRI TV followed. He later worked in post-production and studied production and media studies from 1999 to 2004 at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). In 2000, while still studying, he founded DRIFE film production with fellow students Florian Deyle and Hendrik Feil. In 2004 the trio won the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Prize for their short film The Surprise .

In 2009 Richter, together with Deyle and his brother Philip Schulz-Deyle, received the Bavarian Film Prize for the best young producer for the film Armistice . The award was presented to them on January 15, 2010 in the Prinzregententheater in Munich . The film had previously been awarded the Audience Prize in Zurich, the Ecumenical Prize in Montréal and the German Film Prize in Hof. In 2012, the Kömode A very hot number produced by Richter, based on a template by Andrea Sixt, was nominated for the Bambi as best comedy in the “Film National” category. In 2017, the tragic comedy At Eye Level, realized by Martin Richter Filmproduktion, was awarded the German Film Prize for the best children's film.
