Martin Rueda (born January 9, 1963 in Zurich ) is a Swiss-Spanish football coach and former football player. In the 2012/13 season he coached the Swiss Super League club BSC Young Boys . His previous positions as a coach were FC Wohlen , FC Winterthur , FC Aarau , FC Lausanne-Sport and the U-16 and U-18 teams of the Grasshopper Club Zurich . After triumphs against FK Borac Banja Luka (2nd qualifying round), Randers FC (3rd qualifying round) and Lokomotiv Moscow (Barrage), Rueda qualified for the group stage with Lausanne-Sport in 2010/11. In the group stage, Lausanne and Martin Rueda faced CSKA Moscow , US Palermo and Sparta Prague . Lausanne-Sport was eliminated at the end of the group stage as bottom of the group with a single point.
Rueda led the team to promotion to the Axpo Super League . In 2012 he moved to BSC Young Boys Bern . After a long series of unsatisfactory appearances by the 1st team, Martin Rueda was released on April 7, 2013 at YB.
As a player, Rueda worked for the Grasshopper Club Zurich , FC Wettingen , FC Luzern , Neuchâtel Xamax . He was used in five games of the Swiss national team . At the soccer world championship in 1994 he was part of the Swiss squad.
Martin Rueda was married to a Danish woman and therefore speaks Danish .
