Martin Rütter (born June 22, 1970 in Duisburg ) is a German dog trainer and author . He has become known since the mid-1990s through a number of television and stage productions about dog handling .

education

Rütter passed his Abitur in Moers only after he was repeatedly expelled from schools due to behavior and performance. He studied sports science at the German Sport University Cologne before completing a correspondence course to become an animal psychologist at the Academy for Animal Naturopathy ATN AG in Switzerland . He did internships in wolf breeding stations and observed dingoes in Australia . His professional activity then also included the training of guide dogs and wheelchair assistance dogs .

Main areas of activity

In 1995 Rütter founded the center for people with dogs near Erftstadt to train dogs and their owners using the DOGS (Dog Orientated Guiding System) method he developed . At the same time he began to work as a consultant for television stations. Rütter was the focus of the documentary series A couch for all skins , which was produced by Bettina Böttinger for the WDR . In the two seasons, the documentation was dedicated to his work as a dog trainer and accompanied him in dealing with animals and humans. In addition, from 2004 Rütter acted as a protagonist in the weekly ZDF -Ratgeber Unterwegs mit dem Hundversteher / Volle Kanne .

Rütter has been a production consultant since 2005. A team for all skins , in which problems with pets are presented and possible solutions are presented. Since 2008 he can be seen in the VOX documentary series Der Hundeprofi , where he supports families and private individuals in training dogs. On March 6, 2010, the series Der VIP Hundeprofi started on VOX , in which he helps well-known personalities, including presenter Nina Ruge , actor Martin Semmelrogge and rapper Eko Fresh , with problems in dog training.

In addition, Rütter appeared with several stage programs. They were called Hund-Deutsch / Deutsch-Hund (2010), He does nothing! (2012), nachSITZen (2014) and acquittal! (2017).

In 2019 he hosted the RTL show Rütter is enough! .

At 37, he suffered from stress cardiomyopathy .

Rütter has five children and lives with his partner on a horse farm near Cologne.
