Martin Schlappner (politician)

Martin Schlappner (born October 6, 1931 in Groß-Gerau ; † November 26, 2008 in Rüsselsheim ) was a German economist, administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Schlappner began studying economics and social sciences at the University of Frankfurt , which he completed in 1955 with the first state examination and the examination for a degree in economics. He initially worked for a construction company and as a freelancer for the newspaper Rüsselsheimer Echo , joined the district administration of the Groß-Gerau district in 1956 and was later promoted to senior administrative council. Martin Schlappner was married.

Schlappner was a member of the SPD. From 1956 to 1996 he was a city councilor for the city of Rüsselsheim. He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1970 to 1995. He was elected in the Groß-Gerau I constituency. In the state parliament he was from December 1, 1974 to August 4, 1983 and from September 25, 1983 to February 17, 1987 chairman of the committee for environmental issues.

In 1979 he was a member of the 7th and 1984 of the 8th Federal Assembly .
