Martin Staab

Martin Reiner Staab (born March 19, 1964 in Königsbronn ) is a German non-party local politician . Since 2013 he has been Lord Mayor of the large district town of Radolfzell on Lake Constance .

Life

Staab attended grammar school in Oberkochen from 1974 to 1983. After completing his military service, he studied administrative sciences at the University of Konstanz from 1985 to 1990 . After three years of legal clerkship, he passed the state examination for higher general administrative service in 1994. From 1994 to 2000 he was the head of the city of Singen am Hohentwiel .

Staab is divorced and has three children.

From 2000 to 2013 he was First Mayor of Waiblingen .

On October 20, 2013, he was elected Lord Mayor of the large district town of Radolfzell on Lake Constance with 54.3 percent of the vote . He took office on December 1, 2013.

In December 2017, 14 Radolfzell councilors from various parliamentary groups raised allegations against Staab in an open letter and criticized Staab's personnel policy ; there were also illegal recordings of conversations with city officials. The public prosecutor's office in Konstanz initiated a formal investigation against Martin Staab on January 25, 2018 because of the "suspected violation of the confidentiality of the word ". On September 18, 2018, it was announced that the investigation against Staab had been discontinued. According to the Konstanz public prosecutor's office, there were no sufficient indications of a criminal offense.

Staab is a member of the Free Voters / FW parliamentary group of the district council of Konstanz and is involved in the technical and environmental committee (member) and social committee (deputy member), the administration and finance committee (deputy member) and the budget group (deputy member).

He is committed to the German Red Cross (DRK) . He is a member of the Round Table / Old Table service club .
