Martin Stocklasa (born May 29, 1979 in Grabs , Switzerland ) is a former Liechtenstein soccer player . The 1.92 m tall right foot can be used in any defensive position.

Career

In the club

Martin Stocklasa began his career at USV Eschen-Mauren before joining the top Liechtenstein club FC Vaduz (1997–1999). After two seasons with FC Zurich (1999/2000 and 2001/02) he played for the suburban club SC Kriens (2000/01). In 2002 he returned to FC Vaduz. From summer 2006 to 2008 Stocklasa was under contract with the German regional division Dynamo Dresden . In summer 2008 he moved to the Austrian club SV Ried , where he won the Austrian Cup in 2011.

In the summer of 2011 Stocklasa moved back to his homeland and switched to FC St. Gallen . With the FCSG he achieved direct promotion to the Raiffeisen Super League . In the following season Stocklasa reached 3rd place with FC St. Gallen and thus qualified for the UEFA Europa League . In the group stage, Stocklasa played in the home game against Valencia CF and away against FK Kuban Krasnodar . At the end of the season Stocklasa ended his career as an active footballer. He played his last game against FC Sion, where he received his 4th yellow card and was suspended for the last round.

In the national team

Stocklasa has been in international matches for his home country since 1996. On September 7, 2012, he made his 100th international match as the second Liechtenstein player . On October 15, 2013, he made his 111th international match in the 2-0 draw against Greece , setting Mario Frick's record .

As a trainer

After retiring from his career, he headed the youth department of FC St. Gallen from July 2014 and was also assistant coach at the club from 2015 to 2016. Since July 1, 2017, Stocklasa has been the coach of the Liechtenstein U15 national team and also assistant coach for the country's U17, U19 and U21 teams.

Private

His younger brother, Michael Stocklasa , is also a former soccer player. He also played for the Lichtenstein national team. His brother ended his career in 2012.
