Martin Taylor (born November 9, 1979 in Ashington ) is a former English football player .

Career

Martin Taylor was a defender in the English Premier League . The first professional football club Taylor were 1997 the Blackburn Rovers . In 2002 Taylor took part in the European Championship in Switzerland with the English U-21s . In 2004, Taylor moved to Birmingham City . As a defender, he was used in 2007 for a month at Norwich City and then returned to Birmingham City. Taylor caused a negative sensation when he broke the left leg of his Croatian opponent and striker Eduardo in the third minute of his club's Premier League home game against Arsenal London on February 23, 2008 . Arsenal coach Arsène Wenger then demanded a lifelong ban on Taylor. He also received several death threats after the foul. Wenger then revised his statement and admitted to having said this emotionally.

From January 29, 2010 to 2012, Martin Taylor played for Watford FC in the second-rate Football League Championship .

For the 2012/13 season Taylor moved to Sheffield Wednesday .
