Martin von Thile

Martin Thile , from 1713 by Thile , († 1732 ) was a royal Kurbrandenburg colonel and governor of Köslin and Kasimirsburg .

He is the son of middle-class parents from the Mittelmark and joined the Brandenburg troops as a simple soldier. He fought in Hungary at Peterwardein , Marasbin and Zenta . And then in Holland against the French in the battle at Löwen , Ramillies , Oudenaarde , Wijnendale and Hunslott, plus in the sieges of Weißenburg in Bavaria , Kaiserswerth , Roermond , Venlo , Rheinberg , Bonn , Menin , Mons , St.Venant and 1715 Stralsund . On November 1, 1707 he became a major in the Grumbkow regiment, on January 22, 1710 lieutenant colonel and on July 6, 1718 colonel.

In 1727 he took over Infantry Regiment No. 25 (Lottum), but in 1728 he was entrusted with the newly established Infantry Regiment No. 30 . King Friedrich Wilhelm I was very fond of him, so in the first year of his reign he raised him to the Prussian nobility with his wife and children on May 11, 1713. In addition, he became the governor of Koßlin and Kasimirsburg.

He was married to Dorothea Gregori and had several children with her. Major General Friedrich Wilhelm von Thile (1709–1782) was his son. The daughter Katharina Sophia was married to the Prussian major general Friedrich Magnus von Horn . Another daughter was married to General Ernst Ludwig von Kannacher . Further sons were Lieutenant General Friedrich Leopold von Thile (born July 26, 1711; † January 13, 1779) (father of General Alexander Heinrich von Thile ) and war and domain councilor Carl Gottfried von Thile (* 1706; † May 11, 1793) ).
