Marvin Ogunjimi (born October 12, 1987 in Mechelen ) is a Belgian football player with Nigerian roots.

Player career

KRC Genk (2004-2011)

Between 2004 and 2011, Marvin Ogunjimi played for KRC Genk in the Jupiler Pro League . He celebrated his greatest success in the 2010/11 season by winning the Belgian championship. Ogunjimi scored fifteen goals including the final round and was the top scorer of his team after Jelle Vossen . In 2009 he and Genk had already won the Belgian Cup with a 2-0 final win over KV Mechelen .

RCD Mallorca (2012–2014) and Strømsgodset Toppfotball (since 2014)

On January 1, 2012, the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca signed him after a move failed in the summer. After several loan stations in his home country, the Belgian was handed over free of charge in the summer of 2014. The offensive player's new employer was the Norwegian first division team Strømsgodset Toppfotball , with whom Ogunjimi signed a contract until December 31, 2016.

Belgian national team (2010–)

On October 8, 2010, Ogunjimi made his debut in Astana in a 2-0 win over Kazakhstan for Belgium and was the decisive player of the game with two goals after being substituted on. In qualifying for the European Championship in 2012 , he was the top scorer of the Belgian national football team with five goals.
