Masaki Ejima (born March 6, 1999 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Masaki Ejima gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali , where he finished sixth with 5.00 m, as well as at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz the following year with 5.35 m. In 2017 he won the silver medal behind the Chinese Ding Bangchao at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with a new personal best of 5.65 m . He then finished fourth at the Summer Universiade in Taipei with 5.40 m. In 2018 he won the bronze medal at the U20 World Championships in Tampere, Finland, by jumping 5.55 m. The following year he finished sixth at the Asian Championships in Doha with 5.51 m. He then took part again in the Student World Games in Naples and this time finished seventh with 5.21 m. At the end of September he retired at the World Championships in Doha with 5.45 m in qualification .

In 2019, Ejima became the Japanese pole vault champion.
