Masamicz Amano
Masamicz Amano ( Japanese 天野 正道 , Amano Masamichi ; born January 26, 1957 in Akita , Akita Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese composer .
He completed his studies at the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo and graduated there in 1982. During his studies he was already awarded a composition prize, the Takeoka Prize .
After completing his studies, he first worked in Australia and there at CMI (ComputerMusic Instruments). Now he works mainly in Europe and is active as a conductor ( Filharmonia Narodowa , National Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra since 1992 and Orchester de Chambre Versailles) and produces recordings of his works. He has received composition commissions from Warsaw Brass, Torio Classic, Paderewski Festival and others. In the field of wind orchestras, he initially worked as arranger of the works of Akira Miyoshi , Akio Yashiro , Toshiro Mayuzumi , Béla Bartók and Maurice Ravel . Then he also composed his own works. He wrote numerous works for symphonic wind orchestra , which were recorded by the Tōkyō Kōsei Wind Orchestra and are used in the musical competitions of the All-Japan Band Association .
