Mason Adams

Mason Adams (born February 26, 1919 in Brooklyn , New York City , † April 26, 2005 in Manhattan , New York City) was an American actor .

Life

Adams studied drama at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and began his career in the 1940s as a speaker in popular radio games. In the 1960s, he mainly worked as a spokesperson for commercials .

He achieved great popularity from 1977 with the role of editor-in-chief Charlie Hume in the television series Lou Grant , a spin-off from Mary Tyler Moore . This role earned him three Emmy Television Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor.

He played his last role on Broadway in 2002 in Arthur Miller's The Man Who Had All the Luck .
