Massachusetts Bay
The Massachusetts Bay (English Massachusetts Bay ) is one of the largest bays on the American Atlantic coast . It forms the approximately 100 km long characteristic coastline of the US state Massachusetts . The bay is bounded in the north by Cape Ann , at the westernmost point are Boston and the port of Boston, in the south it goes at Brant Rock, a district of Marshfield , into the beginning of the smaller bay of Plymouth and seaward into Cape Cod Bay . Other cities on Massachusetts Bay include Nahant , Gloucester and Salem Harbors . The Cape Cod Canal provides a water connection between Cape Cod Bay and Buzzards Bay (German: Bussarde Bay).
Variously that is Cape Cod Bay are considered part of Massachusetts Bay. In this understanding, the term Massachusetts Bay describes the roughly rectangular area of the sea between Cape Ann and Cape Cod .
