Matej Mugerli on the 2008 Tour of Missouri

Matej Mugerli (born June 17, 1981 in Šempeter-Vrtojba ) is a Slovenian cyclist .

Matej Mugerli won two stages in Brazil at the Volta do Rio de Janeiro , won the Gran Premio Industrie del Marmo and won the overall classification of the Italian stage race Giro del Friuli . He then got a contract with the Italian ProTeam Liquigas-Bianchi from 2005 . The Slovenian celebrated his greatest success in 2006 with a stage win in the Tour of Catalonia .

In 2009 he went to the Perutnina Ptuj team . For this team he won a stage of the Tour of Serbia and Zagreb-Ljubljana in 2010. Mugerli also won a stage of the Tour of China in 2011. From 2012 to 2014 he drove for the Slovenian team Adria Mobil . There he still won small races, such as the overall ranking of the Istrian Spring Trophy 2014. He also became the road racing champion in Slovenia in 2014 .

In 2015 he switched to Synergy Baku Cycling Project . He immediately became a stage winner at the Tour de Normandie .
