Martin Derganc (born March 20, 1977 in Novo mesto ) is a former Slovenian cyclist .

Career

Martin Derganc began his professional career in 2000 with the second-class Slovenian cycling team KRKA-Telekom Slovenije , but had already achieved some good results in the U23 age group for the Italian team Zalf-Désirée-Fior; Among other things, he won the Slovenian one-day race Grand Prix Krka in 1997 . In his first year as a professional he was able to win the overall ranking of the Tour of Slovenia , the Grand Prix Krka and the overall ranking as well as a stage of the Tour of Croatia . A year later he became Slovene road racing champion. In the 2002 season he drove for the Italian team Acqua e Sapone-Cantina Tollo , where he was integrated into Mario Cipollini's sprint train , but was also able to ensure his own success with a stage win at the Tour of Austria . For the years 2003 and 2004 he signed with the Italian team Domina Vacanze-Elitron and was able to win the overall ranking and a stage of the Brixia Tour in 2003 despite a very bad fall near Milan-Sanremo .

Martin Derganc, who ended his professional career after the 2004 season, competed twice in the Giro d'Italia and in 2002 was 95th overall. His most successful season was that of 2001, which he finished among the 250 best riders in the UCI world rankings .
