Andrej Hauptman
Andrej Hauptman (born May 5, 1975 in Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian cyclist .
Andrej Hauptman started his professional career in 1999 at Vini Caldirola . The following year he won the Grand Prix de Fourmies . At the UCI Road World Championships in 2001 in Lisbon , he was third in the road race behind Óscar Freire and Paolo Bettini . In the same year he was also fifth in the two World Cup races HEW Cyclassics and Paris-Tours . At the 2002 World Cup in Zolder , Belgium , he was fourth this time.
Hauptman competed in road races twice - in 2000 and 2004 - at the Olympic Games: in 2000 he finished 24th and in 2005 fifth. He took part in the Tour de France three times, but never finished it. In 2005 he ended his cycling career.
