Jan Tratnik (born February 23, 1990 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian road cyclist .

Career

Jan Tratnik started his career in 2009 with the Slovenian Continental Team Radenska KD Financial Point . In his first year there he won the one-day race Po Ulicah Kranja and the Coppa Linari and was fifth in the Poreč Trophy , tenth at the Grand Prix du Portugal and third in the Slovenian U23 time trial championship. In the next season he won the Gran Premio della Liberazione and finished second in the overall ranking at the Giro delle Regioni . In 2011 Tratnik received a contract with the UCI WorldTeam Quickstep . After a year he returned to Radenska.

Tratnik won the title at the U23 European Road Championships in 2012 in Goes, the Netherlands .

In 2015 Tratnik became the Slovenian road racing champion. A few days after this victory, he won the points classification of the Tour of Austria . Then he won stage victories in the same year at the Tour of Hungary and followed at Hradec Králové – Wrocław . In 2016 Tratnik was again Slovenian champion, this time in the individual time trial , after having previously won a stage of the Tour of Slovakia . In 2017 he won the overall ranking of this tour. The following year he was again national champion in the individual time trial, and he also won a stage each of the Settimana Internazionale and the CCC Tour - Grody Piastowskie and the Volta Limburg Classic .
