Mathew Lindsay (born January 29, 1990 in Newcastle ) is an Australian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2008 .

Career

Mathew Lindsay began his career as a hockey player with the Newcastle North Stars , for whom he has played in the Australian Ice Hockey League since the 2008 season . At times he was also used in the second team of the club in the second-rate ECSL and was able to win this division in 2012. Only in the southern hemisphere summer 2009/10 he played for the team of Northland College in Division III of the US National Collegiate Athletic Association . With the North Stars from his hometown, he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian national championship , in 2008, 2015 and 2016 . In 2009 (VIP-Cup), 2010 and 2015 (H. Newman Reid Trophy) he and his team also won the trophy for the main round victory.

International

In the junior division, Lindsey took part in the U18 World Cup in Division II in 2008 for Australia and the U20 World Cup in 2010 in Division III when he was voted the best player on his team.

For the men's national team , he was on the ice for the first time at the age of 26 at the 2016 World Cup , when the team was promoted from group B to group A in Division II. Also in 2017 and 2018 he played in Division II.
