Mathew Vattackuzhy

Mathew Vattackuzhy (born February 20, 1930 in Chenkal ; † November 22, 2016 ) was an Indian clergyman and Syro-Malabar bishop of Kanjirapally .

Life

Mathew Vattackuzhy was ordained a priest on June 1, 1956 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kanjirapally on December 20, 1986 . The Archbishop of Changanacherry , Joseph Powathil , ordained him episcopal on February 26 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Kuriakose Kunnacherry , Bishop of Kottayam , and Joseph Pallikaparampil , Bishop of Palai .

On December 23, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
