Mathew Arackal (born December 10, 1944 in Erumely , India ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Syro-Malabar bishop of Kanjirapally .

Life

Mathew Arackal received on 13 March 1971, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 23, 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kanjirapally. The Archbishop of Changanacherry , Joseph Powathil , donated him episcopal ordination on February 9, 2001 ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Kanjirapally, Mathew Vattackuzhy , and the bishop of Kottayam , Kuriakose Kunnacherry .

On January 15, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Mathew Arackal's resignation due to reasons of age.
