Mathias Pfeil (2017)

Mathias Pfeil (born March 16, 1961 in Günzburg ) is a German architect and monument conservator . He has been the general conservator of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation since 2014 .

Life

After graduating from high school at Oskar-von-Miller-Gymnasium in Munich and completing his military service , Pfeil studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich . After initial professional experience in planning and architecture offices, a traineeship in urban planning at the Supreme Building Authority followed.

First, he was then secretary for Urban Development in the Government of Swabia and finally selected city building in Waldkraiburg . After four years, Pfeil went to the government of Upper Bavaria as a consultant for urban development funding . After two years, he was transferred to the Supreme Building Authority in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior for a year.

From 2001 to 2006 arrow head of unit in which it was the Bavarian State Chancellery with location Brussels , where he worked for the reconstruction of the new Bavarian Representation in the European Union was responsible.

After his time in Brussels, Pfeil worked for eight years as the head of the building department of the Bavarian Administration of State Palaces, Gardens and Lakes .

On March 1, 2014, he became the general curator of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation. Since 2016, Pfeil has been teaching at the Technical University of Munich, where he is an honorary professor .

Private

Pfeil practices Taekwondo and is the holder of the black belt in this sport. He also works privately with painting and photography.
