Matorf-Kirchheide is a district of the city of Lemgo in the Lippe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
history
The district formed the municipality of Matorf in the Lemgo district until it was incorporated into the city of Lemgo according to the Lemgo law on January 1, 1969 . The settlements Bredaerbruch, Kirchheide, Lehmkuhle, Matorf and Niederbrüntorf belonged to the municipality of Matorf.
The Lemgo district was merged with the Detmold district to form the Lippe district on January 1, 1973 .
The brothers Friedrich (1876–1932) and August Düsenberg (1879–1955), founders of the US car brand Duesenberg , were born in Kirchheide.
The well-known organ building company Klassmeier was located in Kirchheide until 1942 .
