Wahmbeck is a district of the city of Lemgo in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

Wahmbeck was first mentioned in writing in 1403 as Wanbecke . The municipality of Wahmbeck was created on February 1, 1922 by outsourcing from the municipality of Wiembeck . It was assigned to the city ​​of Lemgo in the Lemgo district of the same name on January 1, 1969 , according to the Lemgo Act . On January 1, 1973, the Bielefeld Law dissolved the Lemgo district, which then formed the Lippe district with the Detmold district.

Public facilities

In 1869, Wahmbeck, together with Wiembeck and Loßbruch, received their own fire engine from the Lippe government. A horse-drawn syringe was used from 1910 to 1952. Then motorized emergency vehicles were purchased. From 2003 to 2004 the fire station was expanded. Today the Wahmbeck fire fighting group is part of the Lemgo volunteer fire brigade .
