Leese is a district of the city of Lemgo in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In 1344 Leese was first mentioned in writing as Lesede . Until it was incorporated under the Lemgo Act on January 1, 1969, Leese was an independent municipality in the Lemgo district . This was dissolved on January 1, 1973 and merged with the Detmold district to form the Lippe district.

education

In Leese there is the Astrid Lindgren School , a special needs school with a special focus on intellectual development. With the Villa Kunterbunt there is an educational and integrative day care facility for children. Further educational offers can be found in Lemgo.
