Matthias Büssem

Matthias Büssem (born March 7, 1834 in Viersen , † January 30, 1914 in Steele ) was a German clergyman.

Life

The son of a craftsman studied after school at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Muenster and at the Alma Mater Rudolphina in Vienna theology . On September 3, 1860, he was ordained a priest in Cologne and came to the parish of St. Laurentius in Essen on January 20, 1888 . On September 26, 1910, on the occasion of his 50th anniversary in service, he was made an honorary citizen and a street was dedicated to him.

Honors

Matthias Büssem was an honorary citizen of the city of Steele, and Büssemstrasse is named after him.
