Matthias Bahr

Matthias Bahr (* 1960 in Letmathe ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

From 1980 to 1982 he studied theology at the Theological Faculty in Paderborn and from 1982 to 1985 at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the LMU Munich ; Diploma with a focus on pastoral theology . From 1986 to 1992 he completed a doctoral degree with Erich Feifel in religious education at LMU Munich , supported by a scholarship from the University of Munich (1987–1989). From 1986 to 1993 he was a religious teacher in church service at a basic u. Secondary school, participation in parish pastoral care and part-time editor of work aids and editing of the magazine "Informationsdienst Studiummodelle". In 1992 he passed the second service examination and missio canonica . From 1992 to 1993 he completed part-time training in transaction analysis at the Munich Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy and Transactional Analysis (MITA). From 1992 to 1993 he completed a distance learning adult education course at the Working Group for Protestant Adult Education in Bavaria (AEEB). From 1994 to 1996 he was assistant director and research assistant at the Catholic Academy in Bavaria . Since 1996 he has been an academic advisor at the Chair for Practical Theology of Catholic Theol. Faculty of the University of Regensburg (religious education and didactics of religious instruction). In 2003 he became an academic senior councilor. In 2001 he received the sponsorship award for innovative projects in academic teacher training from the Bavarian Teachers' Association (BLLV). He is professor for religious education and didactics of religious education at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

His main areas of work are didactics of religious instruction, development of religious books: Reli (from 1996), Reli Real (from 2003), Reli at secondary schools (from 2001/4th edition 2011); Understanding religion (from 2012), religious education after Auschwitz and human rights education .
