from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Matthias Bergmann (* 1951 in Berlin ) is a German scientist with a research focus on transdisciplinary methods and concepts. He works at the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE) in Frankfurt am Main . Since May 2018 he has been honorary professor at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .

Life

Bergmann studied electrical engineering and environmental technology ( technical acoustics ) at the Technical University of Berlin , where he worked from 1976 to 1984 as a research assistant at the Institute for Technical Acoustics. He received his doctorate there in 1979 on a topic in basic research on traffic noise abatement. 1984-1989 he was Managing Director of the Group of Alternative List in the Berlin House of Representatives . From 1989 to 1998 Bergmann was managing director and research assistant at the Öko-Institut . From 1998 to 2011 he worked at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin . Since 2000 he has been a research assistant at the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE) in Frankfurt am Main , where he is particularly concerned with the methods, possible applications and effects of transdisciplinary research . From 2011 to 2016 he was visiting professor at the Leuphana University Lüneburg at the Institute for Ethics and Transdisciplinary Sustainability Research. In May 2018 Matthias Bergmann was appointed honorary professor at Leuphana University .
