Matthias Fischbach (born October 8, 1988 in Erlangen ) is a German politician of the FDP . He has been a member of the Bavarian state parliament and parliamentary director of the FDP state parliamentary group since 2018 . From 2011 to 2013 he was chairman of the Bavarian Young Liberals .

Life

Fischbach attended the Emil-von-Behring-Gymnasium in Spardorf and took part in a junior course at the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg during his school days . After graduating from high school in 2008, he studied economics at the universities in Konstanz and Munich . In 2014 he finished his studies at LMU with a master’s degree. In the following year he took up a job as a management consultant at an international consulting firm specializing in financial service providers, which he held until his election to the state parliament.

Fischbach joined the Young Liberals (JuLis) in 2007 and joined the FDP. From 2008 to 2013 he was a member of the state board of JuLis Bayern and from 2011 to 2013 its state chairman. From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the state board and since 2017 he has been a member of the Presidium of the FDP Bavaria .

Fischbach has been a member of the municipal council in Effeltrich since 2013 . In the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 he ran directly in constituency 508 (Erlangen-Stadt) and on a list of the FDP in the constituency of Middle Franconia . He moved into the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and is a member of the Committee on Education and Culture for the 18th electoral term. The parliamentary group of the Free Democrats elected him as their parliamentary manager. Fischbach is also a member of the Council of Elders in the Bavarian State Parliament.
