Matthias Gerlich (born February 25, 1988 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German handball player . He is 2.04 m tall and weighs 99 kg.

Gerlich learned to play handball at TSV Mindelheim. Gerlich was later at SC Magdeburg under contract and came from 2007 per second game right at Concordia Staßfurt used. In summer 2009 he joined TUSEM Essen . After two seasons in Essen, Gerlich switched to TV Hüttenberg . Only one season later, the Bundesliga team Rhein-Neckar Löwen signed him . Since Gerlich only received a few operating times with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, he moved to the second division club SC DHfK Leipzig Handball in February 2013 . Gerlich, who was under contract with HSC 2000 Coburg from 2014 (shirt number 10), is mostly deployed in the left back position. In summer 2016 he moved to ThSV Eisenach . From the 2018/19 season he will be under contract with the Swiss club BSV Bern Muri .

His brother Michael Gerlich is also a handball player.
